In 1979, I came across a brochure that was printed and circulated in Toronto area by some unknown organization. The title of this was "Burning Anxiety of a Sikh" No author. It was very beautifully printed in three panels on single page.
I believe this was just the time when right after Nirunkari massacre of Sikhs in Amritsar, the political environment of Punjab was very volatile. We may say, in one sense, it was beginning of events that led to events of 1984. In september of 1983, I also saw a huge poster glued to the wall out side Darshini Deodi , near Daily Hukamnama, that was very indicative and vivid about events to follow. Infact, a Singh was loudly reading it out for sangat and predicting how there would be great turmoil in Punjab and bloodbath in Durbar Sahib Parikarma. I wish I had obtained copy of that poster at the time. Anyhow, here is the copy of that brochure as circulated then in Toronto by unknown persons. I found it buried in my archives today. Thought, may be worth our while to reflect upon its contents after passing of 26 years. Please read on below:
In anticipation of best wishes for coming times.

At present the subcontinent is controlled and people are manipulated by the Hindu and the Hindu-Press. They have put members of the minority communities against one another, Sikhs enemy of the Sikh people. I remember the time when they filled jails with the Sikhs killed and murdered them under the pretext of being Akalis or Naxalites, no Sikh revolted, none was enraged at the utter humiliation of the Sikh people.
All this and many shameful events, happened for the reason that the Sikhs forgot their basic tenets. They forgot the Great Guru who gave them the Sword, to protect the oppressed and defend the Dharma and Self. They kept the little dagger or purify Karah-Parshad instead. They left themselves be conned into. believing, the most un-sikh doctrine of non voilence. They were told by the Hindu sponsored movements to become ploy to the Hindu mind, and dissolve in the ocean of Hinduism. They went along with that.
Sikhs, let me say here that you have been foolish to believe that the Hindu wanted your good. The so-called leaders who said so, were enemies of the Sikh Nation. We should have had a better sense by now as the history stands a witness for the Hindu being treacherous from the time of our Gurus through our Raj, partition/independence and to-day. We have been oppressed and betrayed by the Hindu from the very beginning of our existence.
I wonder when the Sikhs are going to get serious about freedom and, rebelion to achieve that freedom. It will be difficult as long as we are under the thumb of Hindus in Bharat, but it has to happen now or else we will perish as a people and a Nation.
We must think of rebellion, revolt of a violent kind. We must start collecting, grabbing, looting and buying Guns and other heavy armament. It is war now, we had better accept the challenge. “There is no other way.”
Armed struggle has a value for the Sikb. Guru proclaimed us as the destroyer of the evil and protector of the oppressed. We have to carry out his orders. We must arm ourselves with swords and modern arms in addition to the sword. It should be a war now, it has to be a war, because we the Sikh ~people ~are slated for genocide.
I must say that is will be slightly difficult now to wipe us entirely as we are no more vulnerable like we were once, during the lime of Nehru-Master Tara Singh and Sants. Nehru could have persuaded the Master to issue a Gurmata for the Sikhs to reach at the concentration Camps, and Sikhs would have been there in time. They could have asked us to get together at Amritsar and Anandpur Sahib, for they know we are deeply religious people, and poisoned the waters. Times have changed, there will be questions asked although by very few, but there is a hope for the seed to remain.
We must know that we are oppressed and that all minorities, the Muslims, untouchable classes and others are oppressed and the oppressor is the Hindu. In fact the Hindus oppress more people in the whole World than anyone else. Look at the millions of untouchables and other minorities.
There seems to be talk about joining up with political parties and get control. I warn you that there is no such animal in existence as a political party for the Sikhs. The only difference between Indira, Desai and Golwalker is that she is the mother of two corrupt sons, Morarji drinks his urine and Golwalker is dead. There is no other difference with regards to their politics.
People are going around saying that we have no business carrying swords let alone guns.
We had better get guns and lots of them.
You have a habit of equaling progress with concessions. They give you a few things and you think you are making progress. They recruit some army officers to feed the guns of their enemies and award medals to their widowed wives and you think it is an honour.
We cannot afford the luxury of saying that we have ministers in the central cabinet. In fact we have none, the ones we think we have are paper-wrestlers, stronger than dirt.
There are some Sikhs who run around talking about the Sikh elite, the rich middle class and the land-owner-farmers. These tall talks are irrelevant and nonsense. The Hindu sees you as a Sikh. I do not care how much money you have got. When he moves he is going to move against all the Sikhs including those moneyed, elite, professionals and industrialists. He is against you as Sikhs and not as a class of X, Y or Z. The class structure is unreal to the Sikhs anyway. I do believe the first people to be sent to concentration camps will be the ones who are running around talking of the elite and rich amongst the Sikhs. They might be given first class air-conditioned seats on trains, but all will end up there.
We cannot be proud of the fact that there is a Sikh Government in the Panjab, ministers in the central cabinet and people in the services. We have no clout.
I have heard some say that minorities are second-class-citizens. Let me remind you that there is no such thing as a second-class-citizen. You are either a citizen or you are not. You are either a slave or you are free. Sikhs are not free.
We do not want the Hindu to love us, we want him to respect us. These slogans of integeration and peaceful-coexistence do not mean anything to a Sikh. it should not. We are not seeking equality to the Big brother Hindu. Hindu is not capable of considering anyone his equal. Look at the criminal record named the Caste System.
We must define who our enemies are. A Sikh must recognize the importance of being a Sikh. It is essential to be a Sikh. Our message should be freedom and that we are going to be free by all means necessary.
We have fought wars to protect the honour of the whole sub-continent unfortunately we protected the corrupt power and the Hindu who lied again and again and built a country, Bharat, which is Hindu. We had to fight wars to protect the Motherland, we can also fight to protect our mother. We have given the supreme sacrifice for the achievement of our goals, we are capable of doing so again. Let us say that ‘we put Bharat and Hindu India on Notice’ the notice being. “we saved and built you, we will tear you apart.”
Do not ever tell me that voilence is bad, that looting and war is destructive. You have been looting the untouchables and others for centuries. There is nothing wrong to steal from a thief. I am telling you, big brother, that I am going to start looting, looting the guns. I will let you keep your doles’ and concessions and your shameful record of broken promises. In fact these have delayed the revolt and fostered supremacy of the Hindu upon others. -
Now I do not want anything but a revolt, a struggle to free myself and free the oppressed classes and other minorities from the clutches of the Hindu.
A society that can pass a law for hanging a flag properly and does not do a thing against the atrocities perpetuated against the so-called untouchables and burning the children of the poor, must be sick. I would prefer a fanatic Hindu to become a fascist dictator because there would be no doubt about where he stands. This smoke screen of secularism and socialism is bullshit.
The Hindu is at war with us. We must respond or perish. Guru took the sword against the oppressors. We must do the same, if not we lose the right to be named Sikhs of Guru Gobind Singh.
In conclusion: Ours, must be to do and die theirs, should be to reason why?
