'Truly brave is he (Khalsa) who fights for Dharma : Righteousness'
Khalsa is ordained by the Will of God
Guru Gobind Singh blessed the Khalsa and merged his personality in the Khalsa by declaring:

The Khalsa is my exceptional Image,
In the Khalsa ever resides my Spirit.
The Khalsa is my Beloved and Venerable Master,
The Khalsa is my divine Protector.
The Khalsa is my Father and Mother,
The Khalsa is my body and soul.
The Khalsa is embodiment of true and perfect Guru.
The Khalsa is my Gallant and Knightly friend.
I have stated the truth without an iota of misconstruction.
God and Guru Nanak are to this my witnesses.
Guru Gobind Singh, Sarb Loh Granth, (MS), 519-526.

Rehitnama Bhai Nand Lal

KHALSA REHIT

If one lives according to the Guru's Rehit
His evil propensities: Bikara
Gradually diminish and disappear.
Adi Guru Granth, Guru Arjan, Gauri, p. 259.

He alone is my true Sikh,
Who lives according to moral Laws: Rehit.
Know him to be my Master.
I am a humble disciple of such a Sikh.
He, who does not live according to moral laws
Has no right to call himself a Sikh.
The blows on his fate keep on knocking at his door.
He who lives not according to the rules of Sikh moral laws,
Can never know peace and happiness.
So everyone should live according to these moral laws,
And thoroughly imbibe the spirit of moral and spiritual life.
Guru Gobind Singh's Concept of a True Sikh: Rehitnama Bhai Desa Singh

So, being a Khalsa is not just about growing Kes and getting at Amritvela. It is so much more. The Gurus saw God as Love. He loves His creation and has a Will that is altruistic. Therefore, the goal of a Khalsa, a sant-sipahi, is to carry out God's altruistic Will, means to love and sacrifice for His creation, says a young convert to Sikhism, Sumit Kaur: 959, Phase IV, Mohali, Punjab- 160 059 (Sikh Review, December 1999, p 91).

Do you know what Guru Nanak has to say about this?

'If you yearn to play the game of love, step on to my path,
With the head placed on the palm of your hand.

And, once you set your feet on this Path,
Then lay down your head without any fear or drudge.'
Sri Guru Granth Sahib, p 1412

Because, it is a game of Love (God).
